Description:
MTEC Electromechanical Works L.L.C is hiring experienced Mechanical Quantity Surveyors for MEP construction projects in Abu Dhabi.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare quantity take-offs, measurements and cost estimates for mechanical works including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting and associated systems.
Review tender drawings, specifications, BOQs and contract documents.
Prepare and verify interim payment applications, progress claims and supporting measurement sheets.
Measure completed works based on approved drawings, site progress and contract requirements.
Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations and assist in commercial comparisons.
Review subcontractor payment applications and verify quantities against actual site progress.
Prepare variation quotations, additional work claims and supporting cost breakdowns.
Identify variations, scope changes and potential commercial risks.
Maintain records of approved variations, pending variations and commercial correspondence.
Assist with preparation of project budgets, cost reports, forecasts and cost-to-complete evaluations.
Monitor actual project costs against approved budgets.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Mechanical Engineers, Procurement, Finance and Commercial teams.
Review material quantities and assist in procurement quantity verification.
Support preparation and negotiation of final accounts with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
Maintain proper documentation for measurement, claims, variations and contractual records.
Assist in identifying contractual entitlements related to additional works, delays or changes in scope.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in MEP contracting or construction projects.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage and mechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, BOQs and specifications.
Strong knowledge of quantity take-off, measurement and cost estimation.
Experience with interim payment applications, variations and subcontractor valuations.
Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying/estimating tools.
UAE/GCC MEP contracting experience is preferred.
Strong numerical, analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
