Description:
MTEC Electromechanical Works L.L.C is hiring experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyors for MEP construction projects in Abu Dhabi.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare quantity take-offs, measurements and cost estimates for electrical works.
Review tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, single-line diagrams and contract documents.
Measure electrical works including conduits, cable trays, trunking, cables, wiring, DBs, panels, lighting, power systems and associated installations.
Prepare and verify interim payment applications and progress claims.
Prepare detailed measurement sheets and supporting documentation for client submissions.
Review subcontractor payment applications and verify quantities against approved and completed works.
Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations and prepare commercial comparisons.
Prepare quotations and cost breakdowns for variations and additional works.
Identify scope changes and maintain a register of variations and commercial claims.
Monitor project costs against approved budgets and report potential cost overruns.
Assist in preparation of project forecasts, cost-to-complete reports and commercial summaries.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Electrical Engineers, Procurement, Finance and Commercial teams.
Verify material quantities for procurement and subcontracting purposes.
Assist in preparing and negotiating final accounts with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
Maintain complete records of drawings, measurements, approvals, claims, variations and commercial correspondence.
Assist in evaluating contractual and commercial impacts of design or scope changes.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in MEP or electrical contracting projects.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction practices.
Ability to read electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, layouts, BOQs and specifications.
Strong experience in quantity take-off, measurement and cost estimation.
Experience preparing payment applications, variations and subcontractor valuations.
Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating/quantity surveying software.
UAE/GCC MEP contracting experience is preferred.
Strong numerical, analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
